The Logo of the Department of Adventist Youth Ministries of the Greater New York Conference is the combined work of Pastor Jose H. Cortes Jr., Director of the Department and Joanne Cortes, Secretary of the Department who did the graphics and put together the thoughts of Pastor Jose.

On the outside of the oval logo you find the different ministries which form the Adventist Youth Ministries Department. Following you can read a description of the different elements within the logo and the rationale for their inclusion:

Apple: New York City is known as the Big Apple.
Skyline: The skyline, including the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty are well known and historic structures of New York City and its suburbs.
Cross: Represents the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on behalf of lost humanity and is at the center of the Gospel, as well as at the core of Adventist Beliefs. Without Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, there is not hope for New York. Youth and Young Adults are called to spread the Gospel of Jesus through Greater New York.
Three Angels: The Message of the Three Angels, found in Revelation 14, coming into the Big Apple, being shared by the Teens and Young Adults of Greater New York Conference.
American Flag: Though Greater New York Conference is the home of thousands of people from about 200 different nationalities, the United States is the country of citizenship and/or residence which has given the opportunity to all of the Greater New York Conference members to come together and form a microcosm of the world, right in New York City and its suburbs.
