1. NAD Youth Ministries Convention Last Minute Information: Next week a large delegation from the GNYC will attend the North American Division Youth Ministries Convention. If anyone has space in his room at the official hotel, please see the following note from Walter Harris who is trying to find space for two young men going:

I need to find space for 2 men for NAD Convention. If anyone has room

they can please contact me by email rombo33@aol.com and let me know.

I have to guys who need space or room for the weekend.

If you need a registration at the original $99.00 price, there are some people who will not be able to go and have 3 $99.00 registrations available. Please contact Ella Harriott if you are interested. Her E-mail is: P724@netzero.net

I would like to encourage each delegate to take GNYC Adventist Youth Ministries shirts, golf-shirts and t-shirts and wear them during the convention, especially on Thursday night and Sunday morning. This way, you will be able to identify anyone from Greater New York and everybody else will be able to identify us.

On Thursday night, right after the sermon, I would like to meet with everyone for a few minutes, in the front, to the left of the stage. For those of you, who are Pathfinders, let me make it a bit clearer, that would be to the left, looking from the floor to the stage. If you need a diagram, please let me know and Chris Bramwell and Walter Harris will be able to provide one for you.

Those of you who are taking the Master Guide, PLA, PIA, or Adventist Youth Leadership Certification (AYLC) this year, will be credited for your full attendance to some of the workshops offered in Jacksonville. For more information please check our website, www.gnycyouth.com under GNYC Youth News, the entire description of workshops and credits given in each area is posted there. In order to get credit for your attendance to the workshops you will need to get a signature from one of the GNYC Leaders assigned to cover each seminar. The name of the leaders assigned to each area will be posted on the website by Tuesday morning.

I have attached a letter from Pastor James Black, Director of Youth Ministries at the NAD, regarding the Youth Ministries Convention. Please download it and read it.

2. Adventist Youth Ministries Office Hours this week (February 20-23, 2006): The office will be close on Monday, February 20, due to Presidents’ Day. From Tuesday to Thursday, there will be someone at the Adventist Youth Ministries Department, between 10 AM to 2 PM. Joanne and I will not be there due to the NAD Youth Ministries Convention, taking place in Jacksonville, Florida.

3. Adventist Youth Ministries Website: Don’t forget to check our website; it is updated every single week. We have recently added a Pathfinder, Adventurer, and Master Guide slide show prepared by our GNYC Adventist Youth Ministries photographer Raphael Gentles.

Next week we are hoping to have the AY Report and the Final draft of the Curriculum for the Adventist Youth Leadership Certification, which begins March 18, 2006, at the Conference Office. Whenever you are wondering whether there is a snow cancellation of a Department event or any last minute info regarding an event, you can also check the website, it is updated regularly.
