Pastor Jose H. Cortes Jr. and Joanne Cortes became the happy parents of Joel Benjamin Cortes, today Saturday, January 20, in Long Island, New York. Joel Benjamin was born at 1:27 PM, just 52 minutes after Joanne's check in at Long Island Jewish Hospital.
Joel Benjamin weighted 6'11 pounds at birth and measured 18 inches and 3/4. Both, Joel and Joanne are doing very well, and recovering at this time.
Pastor Jose, left the Adventist Youth Evangelism & Leadership Congress, during the early hours of Saturday, and was present for the birth. He will skip the rest of the Congress as he spends time with Joanne, Jose III, and the new addition to the family, Joel Benjamin. The event will continue under the able leadership of the Adventist Youth Ministries Department Team.
