Jose III's surgery took place this morning, Friday, Noevember 17, 2006, at Schneider's Children Hospital, in Long Island. The opeeration lasted over an hour, under general anestesia. After the surgery, he was moved to the recovery unit, where he woke up with a smile for his dad and mom. Soon after, he started pointing to the IV in his arm and the pulse meter on one of his fingers; he pretty much demanded for them to be taken out; he made it very clear as he threatened to take them out himself. After some time in the Recovery Room, and cups of water and apple juice, he was released from the hospital.
The doctors said the operation went very well and that he will completely recover within the next few days. The doctors also mentioned that usually, the day after the surgery is the worst one for the child, since all of the effects of the anestesia and pain killers go away.
Joanne and Pastor Jose would like to express lots of gratitude for the prayers offered on their behalf, as well as the many phone calls and messages, during the last few weeks.
