The Middletown Pathfinder Club was awarded the Golden Flag and the first place among the Clubs of the Greater New York Conference attending the Atlantic Union Pathfinder Camporee. As Area Coordinator Chris Bramwell said, before the announcement was made: "this is a first in the history of our Conference." It is the first time that the Middletown Club and any of the clubs from Upstate take First Place Home.
The Spanish Delancey Club managed to stay on the Top Three for the second year in a row, as they gave up first place to Middletown but secured the Silver Flag and Second Place for the Camporee. Jackson Heights took the Bronze Flag and the Third Place home.
At the award ceremony Pastor Jose, GNYC Director of Adventist Youth Ministries, made it very clear that though only three clubs take flags home, all the club that attended the event are winners because they have learned how to "Light uuuuuUUUUUP." We live in a dark world and our daily objective should be to light up our dark world, with Jesus, the LIGHT.
